The Glasgow Diet is back!

Hello!  After just over a year off, The Glasgow Diet is making a return to the blogosphere for 2017!  I’ve been working quietly away at the blog for the past couple of months, and have decided to unveil the new look, logo and plans, so I hope you like it.  There’s going to be some exciting new features coming your way, alongside my normal restaurant reviews, from baking masterclasses, to city guides and more, but first and foremost, I’m guessing you’re wondering what the hell I’ve been doing for the past year?  Or you know, maybe not…but I’ll tell you anyway!

Where to begin?  Towards the end of 2015, things weren’t going so well, I had recently lost my grandmother, and our family dog (any pet owner knows how traumatic it can be) I had a job I hated, and my partner, Sam, had just been told he had to spend the next two years working in Dumfries.  Not so great.  I decided that the best thing for me was to get a fresh start and move to Dumfries with Sam, rather than staying in a job and a flat that I hated, and then 2016 happened and things got better.

I spent time working in a cafe kitchen, learning about what goes on the other side of the kitchen, gaining knowledge about catering and baking; we got our dog, Juno, who is incredibly cheeky but I wouldn’t change her for the world; Sam and I got engaged, and I found a job as an Editorial Assistant that reignited my love of writing and reminded me of the joy I got from my blog, even if I was the only one!  So as a resolution for 2017, I decided it was time to get my butt in gear and bring The Glasgow Diet back to life, and so, here it is!

I’ll be dropping some new content in very soon so please stay tuned, but in the meantime you can keep up to date on my Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages. Thank you for your support – here’s to a delicious 2017!
