About

Hello and welcome to The Glasgow Diet!  My name is Amy Glasgow and yes, before you ask, Glasgow really is my surname!  You might also hear me refer to my husband, Sam, and our beautiful fur baby, Juno the German Shepherd.

I moved to Glasgow from Edinburgh back in 2008 when I came here to study and I fell in love with the city.  It feels like home to me and I love exploring all it has to offer for a foodie like me. I set up my blog because I love food and I love writing, and I wanted to share my experiences with my friends and family.  I have a background in PR, social media and publishing, having worked with brands like BBC Good Food Magazine, Get Out Glasgow, STV, and am currently working as an editorial assistant for the Herald & Times Group.

I hope you enjoy reading my blog as much as I enjoy writing it!

If you want to get in touch, drop me an email at glasgowdiet@hotmail.com – remember you can also get me on my Twitter, Facebook or Instagram

Amy x

Hi Amy!! Lovely blog! I lived in Scotland for four years and I miss that place a lot (although not the weather 😛 I’m happy with my italian sunshine ;P ) Will be looking forward reading more of your posts, I saw the choc, chilli, lime tart and adore it! Can’t wait to try it 😀

    1. Hello! I’m glad you like it – where in Scotland did you live? I hope the tart goes down well!

I studied at St Andrews! Last year I went back with my boyfriend on holiday and we went all around, started from Edinburgh then moved west, up to the Isle o Skye, Inverness and then east and back down to Edinburgh. Love all of it, I left my heart there!

      2. That sounds amazing! I haven’t even seen all of Scotland, it’s shameful!

It’s usually like that… people visit more places they go to on holiday rather than their own country! In my case I’ve seen more places outside of Italy then I’ve visited Italian cities… one should take more time being a tourist in their own country!! 😉

Hey Amy! Well done! A great site. Margaret Stuart forwarded it to us “Bookies”. Coming through the to Glasgow in November to see James Blunt. We’ll have to explore some of your suggestions. Morag x
