A Very Big Announcement…

*** UPDATE: Ringwood Publishing have now SOLD OUT of paperback copies. To buy the e-book, click here. You can still get physical copies from the Koh-I-Noor restaurant! ***

So this is kind of a big deal, at least to me, maybe not necessarily to you reading this, but hey, a girl can dream, right?  For the past year or so, I have been working on a project that is a huge step and achievement for me, and it’s time to reveal just what that is…my first book is being published!

Yes, that’s right, I’ve been working with the team at the institution that is the Koh-I-Noor restaurant, who are following in the footsteps of places like Shish Mahal, Mother India and Ashoka and releasing a book filled with memories, moments and recipes from the restaurant’s long history, and yours truly is the author!

Front Cover (2) (1)

The book details the rich history of the restaurant, from the humble beginnings at Gibson Street to the Charing Cross institution we know and love today. There are stories from long-standing customers, who share their memories of the Koh-I-Noor, including some very recognisable faces! And of course, there are a range of traditional family recipes that make up the Koh-I-Noor menu, all detailed so you can recreate them in the comfort of your own home.

This has been a labour of love for myself, the Koh-I-Noor, and Ringwood Publishing over the past year, and it’s finally ready to be published and shared with the world (or, you know, Glasgow). The book is available to pre-order here, and we will be doing an official launch at the restaurant on the 9th of November, and YOU are invited.

The evening will kick off at 7pm, and there will be talks from myself and the owner, Waseem Tahir, who has worked in the restaurant since his early teens, inheriting the business from his father and grandfather, plus refreshments and maybe even some Indian treats, you’ll have to come by to find out! The event is open to anyone who loves Indian cuisine, loves the Koh-I-Noor, loves a book launch, or just fancies a good night out.

I can’t wait to share this book with everyone, and I can’t deny there is a huge thrill in being able to call myself a published author, and I’d love to see you at the launch, where you will be able to buy the book, which I truly hope will be of interest to you, I certainly enjoyed researching and writing it.
